And just like that, sugar skulls started popping up in my journal! When I was in college, I did a study abroad program in Mexico and fell in love with the Day of the Dead traditions. Our favorite Day of the Dead activity was creating a banner in honor of someone who has departed.Īt the time we made brightly colored banners in honor of my grandparents – my grandmother had just passed that year so it was a great way to remember her and think of the happy memories we cherish. Sugar Skull Coloring Page for Dia De Los MuertosĪ few years ago I joined a Dia de Los Muertos online event hosted by my friends at Tried & True and Crafty Chica! I asked my daughter what she thought would be a fun activity to create and share. Until that visit, I had never fully participated or knew of all the different activities and events that go along with the Day of the Dead festivities. We had an amazing time and I learned SO MUCH about the heritage and culture behind this special celebration. ![]()
